Judge Revokes Bond After Accused Killer Threatens Police Officers' Families, Punches Diner Owner

The Fairfield man was charged with assaulting the owner while free on bond and awaiting trial for the death of a 21-year-old Bridgeport man.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Superior Court judge revoked the bonds for Fairfield’s Dennis Berrios, who is accused of punching a diner owner in the face after complaining his food was cold earlier this month while awaiting trial for allegedly running down and killing a 21-year-old Bridgeport man with his pickup truck in 2014, according to the Connecticut Post.

Daniel Tepfer of the Post reports that after the incident at the New Colony Diner in Bridgeport, Berrios, 37, looked his arresting officers in the eye and told them he knew their names and was going to slowly kill their families.

The judge decided enough was enough and revoked the more than $500,000 in bonds Berrios has been able to post, according to Tepfer.
