Leaking Propane Tank Catches Fire In Fairfield

After responding to the blaze, firefighters performed a controlled burn that shot a dramatic plume of flames several feet in the air.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Firefighters recently responded to a leaking propane tank on fire in Fairfield. The incident happened Monday evening on Woodridge Avenue, according to a Facebook post from the Fairfield Fire Department. When emergency personnel arrived, they extinguished the blaze, which involved a gas grill that was on a wooden deck just 3 feet from a residence. Firefighters then addressed the remaining propane with a controlled burn. Video of the burn posted on Facebook showed a dramatic plume of flames shooting up several feet in the air.
