'Learn About Our Rivers' Event In Fairfield Canceled: UPDATE

UPDATE: The "Learn About Our Rivers" event in Fairfield, originally scheduled for April 26, has been canceled, according to organizers.

"Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are cancelling the 'Learn About Our Rivers' event this weekend," organizers said in a statement. "Thank you to the Mill River Wetland Committee, Inc. for partnering with us on this project. We hope to collaborate again & possibly host a similar event in the future."

Original story: FAIRFIELD, CT — State Rep. Sarah Keitt and Fairfield's Mill River Wetland Committee will host an educational event about the area's rivers on April 26 at the Perry Mill Pond Open Space, 798 Sturges Road in Fairfield.

The free event celebrating Earth Day is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the open space's Joy Shaw Trail.

"This is a hands-on experience to teach children between the ages of 7 and 10 how our rivers affect the land, plants, and animals," organizers said.
