Slew Of Fairfield Vehicle Thefts Reported In Recent Days: Police

In each case, the thief was able to gain access to the vehicle's keys, according to Fairfield police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — At least five vehicles were stolen in recent days across the northern part of Fairfield, according to police.

In each case, the thief was able to gain access to the vehicle’s keys, according to police, who said the thefts were reported at the following times and places:

  • 7:06 a.m. Friday, 1300 block of Lyman Lane;
  • 8:48 a.m. Friday, Farmstead Hill Road;
  • 10:11 a.m. Friday, Farmstead Hill Road;
  • 2:32 p.m. Friday, Calf Pond Lane;
  • 9:20 a.m. Saturday, 100 block of Farmington Avenue.

The vehicle stolen from Lyman Lane and the second vehicle taken from Farmstead Hill Road were both found by Waterbury police, Fairfield authorities said, and the vehicle stolen from Farmington Avenue was recovered in Bridgeport.

Also Friday, police received reports of several items having been stolen from various vehicles, including $200 cash, a wallet and a catalytic converter, according to authorities. The thefts were reported after police warned residents to lock their car doors in the wake of numerous vehicles being entered overnight in and around the Southport area.
