Letter To The Editor: Fairfield Mother Angry About Gun Epidemic
"I am a mother of Fairfield sad and cornered about the gun epidemic as many of us are."

To the Editor:
I am a mother of Fairfield sad and cornered about the gun epidemic as many of us are.
I requested to First Selectwoman to proclaim Friday, June 3rd as Gun Violence Awareness Day in the Town of Fairfield which she agreed.

I also requested Brenda Kupchick to present this meaningful proclamation to the most affected the children in our town. In person, as token of commitment that she will do everything within her power to keep our kids safe in the Interfaith Vigil event were she is the guest of honor today Saturday. She responded, “I will not do that as it is not my job. I can’t promise them safety while in school. It is not the responsibility of a First Selectwoman. This is for lawmakers to do, not mine. Do you get my news letters? If you do, perhaps you can read to your kids”.
I left the phone call conversation, feeling angrier. And I fell hopeless that everything will remain the same when it comes to gun violence. If this happens in a little town in CT. Imagen how unwilling and unconcerned politicians are in Washington DC?
