Letter: Let's Be More Diligent About Property Crime In Fairfield
"We have to be the ones that take control," writes Joanne Romano-Csonka.
To the editor,
Every day I see someone post on social media about cars being broken into, cars being stolen, catalytic converters ripped off, people trying doors, people walking properties and helping themselves to others' properties. Wake up, people. We are living in a whole new society where the criminals are the victims. Where law-abiding citizens are the bad guys and where the police have no authority.
We have to be more diligent.

Fairfield has 12, yes 12, on- and off-ramps to I-95. Do you know what that means? Easy on, easy off. They fly in and fly out, they take what they want and leave us all helpless. We have to be the ones that take control. Unfortunately, we need cameras, we need spotlights with censors and we need to be more diligent about locking our doors, never leave anything of value in our cars and double click your fob to assure your alarm is on. People say where are the cops, they should be doing a better job. Does anyone know how many streets are in Fairfield? Should we hire police officers for each street or should we put the blame where it belongs, on the criminals, and play a part in stopping their reign of crime!
