Lights Out At Major Fairfield Intersection; Tree Down: Police
The state Department of Transportation was aware of the outage but had yet to respond to the intersection as of about 11:30 a.m. Monday.
FAIRFIELD, CT — Traffic lights were out Monday morning on Black Rock Turnpike and a fallen tree closed Mill Hill Road after a weekend of wind and rain in Fairfield.
The lights were affected at the turnpike's intersection with Congress Street near the Merritt Parkway, according to police, who said the state Department of Transportation was aware of the issue but had not yet responded to the intersection as of about 11:30 a.m.
Additionally, a downed tree closed Mill Hill Road in the area of Mill Hill Terrace and Mill Hill Elementary School, police said. The United Illuminating Co. was on scene late Monday morning.
