Ballet Folklórico de México is a 60-member, one-of-a-kind Ballet company who offers audience members an opportunity to experience Mexican culture through their stunning artistic vision. Expressing the spirit and life of their culture with their intricate movements and beautiful costumes, Ballet Folklórico de México certainly brings the stage to life.
With humble beginnings tracing back to 1952, this dance group has amassed a worldwide reputation through their breathtaking dances. Founded by Amalia Hernández, this ballet company has performed on the vision of preserving the dancing traditions of México. Through showing off their vibrant dances and elaborate costumes, Ballet Folklórico has impressed audiences across the globe. Since 1959, the company has given over 5,000 performances, has been distinguished with more than 300 awards recognizing their artistic merits, and has been permanently housed at the Palace of Fine Arts in México City.
