Ludlowe Girls Lacrosse Advances

Falcons rout Valley Regional, 22-4, in Division II qualifying game

No. 8 seed Fairfield Ludlowe coasted to a 22-4 victory over No. 25 Valley Regional in a qualifying game Tuesday in the CIAC Division II girls' lacrosse state tournament.

Tierney Larson (six goals) and Sarah Nesi (five) led the way for the Falcons (12-5), who advanced to Thursday's first-round contest at home against No. 9 Trumbull (12-5-0) at 5 p.m.

Trumbull routed Farmington, 17-2, on Tuesday in another qualifying contest.

Ashley Kirby, Hayley Welke, Stephanie Gora and Christie Barre each had two goals for Ludlowe on Tuesday.  K.C. McAuliffe , Mary Deliberti and Emily Donovan each scored once for the Falcons.
