Max Maisel's Family Reflects on Missing College Student
Fairfield resident Max Maisel went missing in February. His family is starting to accept that the worst may have happened to him.

The family of missing college student Max Maisel are starting to accept that their son is most likely dead.
Parents Ivan Maisel and Meg Murray thanked police for their extensive search effort after a witness reported seeing Maisel on Charlotte pier Feb. 22 on the Genesee River in upstate New York, according to the Fairfield Citizen.
Max grew-up in the Stratfield neighborhood of Fairfield and went to Fairfield Warde High School before attending the Rochester Institute of Technology where he studied photography.

Teachers remarked that he was quiet, but also humorous.
American history teacher James D’Acosta said he was a non-traditional learner that challenged him to be a better teacher.

Many details about his disappearance and the reasons behind it are unknown.
“In the end, it may have been intentional or it may have been an accident, but what difference does it make?” Maisel said to the Fairfield Citizen about his son’s disappearance. “Either way, he’s not here.”
