Malloy America's Most Unpopular Governor: Report
Gov. Dannel Malloy came in dead last for popularity among the nation's governors, according to the Morning Consult.

HARTFORD, CT — Gov. Dannel Malloy was ranked as America's least popular governor in Morning Consult's Governor Approval Rankings report with a 72 percent disapproval rating. His approval rating is 21 percent.
Oklahoma Republican Gov. Mary Fallin came in 49th with a 25 percent approval rating. Former Govs. Chris Christie of New Jersey and Sam Brownback of Kansas held on to the bottom rankings for the past two years.
Malloy has remarked in the past that he puts the state's best interests above his own popularity.

"I hope that person one day will recognize what we've done," Malloy said when he announced he wouldn't seek a third term in office. "...straightening out the state's long-term obligations was worth my sacrificing my personal popularity."
After Malloy's announcement it seems that everyone and their mother decided to run for the open slot. More than 30 people have set up committees to seek the governor's office, according to the State Elections Enforcement Commission. Lt. Gov Nancy Wyman decided against running and said she would instead spend more time with her family.
