Man Accused Of Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend Outside Of Diner In Fairfield

The alleged assault reportedly occurred soon after the man was ticketed for creating a disturbance outside of a hookah lounge.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Bridgeport man is accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend in the parking lot of a Fairfield diner soon after he was ticketed for creating a disturbance outside of a hookah lounge early Sunday morning, according to multiple reports.

The Fairfield Citizen reports George Rivera, 28, was arrested after police say he grabbed his ex-girlfriend by the hair and punched her in the face in the parking lot of the Andros Diner around 5:30 a.m.

Rivera had been issued an infraction at about 4 a.m. after an officer told him to lower his voice outside of the Sky Hookah Lounge on Kings Highway East and he allegedly responded by becoming irate and yelling profanities, according to the Citizen.

The Fairfield Daily Voice reports that police say the fight outside of the diner apparently began because Rivera blamed the victim for the ticket he received outside the hookah lounge.
