Man Blames Hit-And-Run On Brother, Gets Arrested: Fairfield PD

A man was arrested after trying to blame a hit-and-run crash on his "drunk" brother, according to a report.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Police say a man who tried to blame a hit-and-run accident on his “drunk” brother was charged with striking a parked car and fleeing the scene last month in Fairfield, according to the Fairfield Citizen.

The Citizen reports Adam Resnick, 26, of Ansonia, was arrested on a warrant this week in connection to the accident, which occurred at about 4 a.m. on Dec. 17 on Sunnyridge Avenue. Police followed a trail of engine fluids to High Street where a heavily damaged white Saab matching the description of the fleeing vehicle was found.

Resnick, the registered owner of the Saab, told police his drunk brother had crashed the car into a utility pole, according to the Citizen. Police said Resnick eventually admitted during the investigation that his brother wasn’t driving and that it was actually a friend named Sam, whose last name he didn’t know or where he lived.
