Man Burglarizes Fairfield Biz, Breaks Glass Door With Rock: Cops
The break-in occurred during the early morning hours Wednesday, according to Fairfield police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A man is accused of breaking in to a Fairfield convenience store and stealing packs of cigarettes, according to police.
Reginald Shepard, 63, no address listed, was arrested connection with the incident, police said. He is charged with third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny and criminal mischief, according to police.
About 3 a.m. Wednesday, officers found the front door shattered at Walgreens, 414 Kings Highway East, police said. The door appeared to have been broken by a rock that was thrown through the glass, according to police, who found droplets of blood inside the store.

Surveillance video showed a man jump the cashier counter and steal several packs of cigarettes before running east, police said. Officers found a man behind Stop & Shop, 760 Villa Ave., who looked like the person in the video, according to police. The man, identified as Shepard, had a cut on his hand and was in possession of 44 packs of Newport cigarettes, police said.
Shepard was held on a $1,000 bond and is set to appear in court Oct. 19, according to police.
