Man Charged After Fatal Fairfield Heroin Overdose: Police

FAIRFIELD, CT — Evidence collected in connection with a fatal heroin overdose in Fairfield led police to charge a man with several drug offenses, according to law enforcement.
David Armstrong, 28, was arrested Friday and is charged with possession of a controlled substance, attempting to sell a narcotic and selling a controlled substance, police said in a news release.
The evidence that helped police identify Armstrong as a suspect was collected during the course of an investigation into a fatal heroin overdose reported Jan. 22 in the 200 block of Roselle Street, according to the news release.

When police arrested Armstrong, he had several wax folds of Fentanyl, a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun and hundreds of dollars in cash, the news release said. Armstrong had a valid state pistol permit and three firearms were registered to his name, one of which was seized when he was arrested and two of which were later turned over to police, according to the news release.
Armstrong was held on $20,000 bond and is set to appear in court Feb. 21, the news release said.
