FAIRFIELD, CT — A Hamden man faces burglary charges after he stole several bicycles from homes in the beach area of Fairfield, according to police.

Charles F. Bowlby, 48, is charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny and multiple conspiracy counts, police said.

Bowlby and an associate went last month to two homes on Fairfield Beach Road, where they stole bicycles and fled in a gray SUV, according to police. A homeowner discovered forced entry into a locked shed, and law enforcement used surveillance footage and information from a separate investigation to identify Bowlby and find his vehicle at his Fourth Street residence in Hamden on June 18, the same day the burglary occurred, police said.
