Man Flees From Police, Strikes Vehicle On I-95: Fairfield Police

Police say the man failed to stop during a route traffic stop and engaged officers in a pursuit.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Bridgeport man was arrested after police say he failed to stop during a routine traffic stop and engaged officers in a pursuit on I-95 and struck another vehicle during the pursuit. Hasan T. Fleming, 24, is accused of failing to stop in the area of Commerce Drive and Coolidge Street in Fairfield before entering I-95 South and striking another vehicle while fleeing from officers, according to police.

Police were able to take Fleming into custody at the I-95 southbound exit ramp for Mill Plain Road, according to Lt. Robert Kalamaras. There were no injuries as a result of the pursuit, Kalamaras said. (To sign up for Fairfield breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Fleming was arrested on charges of interfering with a police officer, reckless driving, failure to obey officer signal, evading responsibility, failure to drive right and excessive window tint. He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Aug. 28.
