Man Shoots Self In Buttocks At Restaurant In Fairfield: Report

The man was reportedly reaching for his wallet to pay the bill when the incident occurred.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Bridgeport man ended up in the hospital and may face charges after shooting himself in the buttocks while reaching for his wallet to pay his bill at a restaurant in Fairfield, according to the Connecticut Post.

The Post reports Michael Southmayd, 56, was dining with his family at Tazza Osteria & Bar, located at 116 Post Road, on Friday night when the incident occurred.

Southmayd has a carry permit for the gun and hadn’t been drinking any alcohol, according to the Post.
