Man Stole $3K Golf Cart, Led Cops On Foot Chase: Fairfield Police
The man was charged with larceny and interfering with an officer in connection with the theft from the Brooklawn Country Club, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A man is accused of stealing a $3,000 golf cart from a Fairfield country club after he tried to sell the cart to undercover police, according to law enforcement.
Anthony M. Montgomery, 21, of Bridgeport, agreed to meet the undercover officers about the cart after it was stolen Aug. 5 from the Brooklawn Country Club and offered for sale online, police said. Montgomery then attempted to flee the officers, but was arrested after a short foot chase, according to police. Upon his arrest, Montgomery was found to have the key to the cart, police said.
Montgomery, of the 1000 block of Howard Avenue, was charged with third-degree larceny and interfering with an officer, police said. His bond was set at $2,500, and he is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 27, according to court records.
