Man Stole More Than $10K From Fairfield Businesses: Police
The man charged with stealing thousands in cigarettes, alcohol and cash "has an extensive criminal record," according to Fairfield police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A Bridgeport man with a lengthy criminal record is accused of stealing more than $10,000 in cigarettes, alcohol and cash over the course a series of burglaries of Fairfield businesses, according to police.
Daniel Abraham was arrested Aug. 26 in connection with the thefts, a police report said. Abraham, 47, of Hudson Street, is charged with three counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree larceny and fourth-degree larceny, according to the report.
The first burglary occurred just before 10 p.m. June 19, 2019, at Premier Wine & Spirits in the 500 block of Tunxis Hill Road, the report said. The front window of the business was smashed, the back basement door was damaged, and about $1,500 in cigarettes and vodka was stolen, according to police, who noted a suspect vehicle was identified and a fresh cigarette butt was found at the scene and sent to a lab for DNA testing.

The next morning, June 20, 2019, the owner of Villa Wine & Spirits in the 700 block of Villa Avenue reported a burglary, police said. The thief entered through an unlocked back door and stole about $3,150 in cigarettes, alcohol and cash, according to police, who also reported that two VCRs connected to security cameras were taken. A separate security system recorded a suspect who looked like Abraham in the store 8:30 a.m., according to the report.
About a week later, just before 6 a.m. June 28, 2019, an alarm went off at Euphoria Cigar and Hookah Lounge in the 1500 block of Black Rock Turnpike, the report said. Once again, the thief used an unlocked back door to enter, this time stealing about $6,020 worth of cigarettes, according to police. The burglar disabled one of the security cameras, but surveillance footage captured a vehicle similar to the sedan seen during the previous burglary, the report said.

Police suspected Abraham was involved in the burglaries, and DNA on the cigarette from the first crime scene was matched to Abraham, according to the report.
“Abraham has an extensive criminal record in the State of Connecticut,” the report said.
Abraham has been arrested multiple times in Fairfield in connection with burglaries and robberies, according to police, including in December 2019 on charges related to a 2018 residential burglary.
Abraham was arrested on charges connected to the Fairfield commercial burglaries at the state courthouse on Golden Hill Street in Bridgeport, police said. His bond is set at $75,000, he has yet to enter a plea in the case and his next court date is scheduled for Nov. 17, according to court records.
