FAIRFIELD, CT — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Angelica who nominated Adriana, 12th grade of Fairfield. Angelica is Adriana's sister.

How do you know the star local student?

Sister

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Her hobbies and dream/ goal is extra ordinary. She loves to solve math problems than going out. In fact she is always ecstatic when she solves complex math equations. A genius. She would love to be an aerospace engineer and be an astronaut or anything NASA related. On top of intense school work and preparing for college applications, she volunteers at Operation Hope and works at Kumon to help younger kids understand math like she does. High school has not been easy for her. She’s battling anxiety, depression and sometimes bullies in school (because she’s different) and she focuses all of the frustration in math/ science. She really is a star student.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

She is brilliant. Adriana loves math and science more than the norm

Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Adriana, 12th grade!
