Men With Gun Sought By Fairfield Police After String Of Break-Ins

FAIRFIELD, CT — Police are seeking the public’s help after two suspects — one of whom had a gun — broke into several vehicles in Fairfield and stole residents' belongings, according to law enforcement.

Eight people in the Lake Hills section of town reported their vehicles were entered and their personal items were stolen between late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, police said in a news release.

In one case, a wallet was taken from a vehicle and four packages were stolen from a front porch on Papurah Road, according to police. Ring doorbell video footage provided by police shows two men approach the front door and take the packages about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday. In the video, one of the suspects is holding a silver gun.

Hours after the break-ins, the suspects were recorded on a gas station surveillance system using stolen credit cards at the business in Wallingford, according to police.

“Police are urging residents to remove valuables and secure vehicles to help minimize the temptation that may lure dangerous criminals to neighborhoods,” the news release said. “Leaving valuables in vehicles with the doors left unlocked creates a target rich environment for these crimes to occur. Police also urge residents to not confront suspicious individuals as they may be armed and dangerous. Should you see something suspicious in your neighborhood call the police immediately.“
