Mother Collects Doctorate Degree From Sacred Heart U. In Fairfield With Baby By Her Side
A TikTok video from the graduation is gaining popularity on the internet.
FAIRFIELD, CT — "Graduating with baby," just in time for Mother's Day.
On May 7, Alyssa Serville, an assistant principal at Montessori Magnet at Batchelder, part of Hartford Public Schools, received her education doctorate degree from Fairfield's Sacred Heart University.
And as she walked on stage to obtain her diploma, she proudly carried her young child in her arms.

The heartwarming moment was captured by the university in the TikTok video below.
"Imagine the joy of walking across the graduation stage, not just as an individual but with your baby by your side, a testament to the love and connection that defines motherhood," school officials wrote in a statement. "Our Pioneer moms serve as an inspiration to many, showcasing that it's possible to pursue personal dreams while nurturing a family. They embody resilience, strength, and love, and today, we celebrate them wholeheartedly."

Serville, a Bristol resident, is one of the "remarkable women balance their roles as mothers and professionals, making significant strides in various fields, including academia," the university added.
