Multi-Vehicle Crash In Fairfield; I-95 Congested For 18 Miles

As of about 3 p.m., the northbound interstate was congested for over 18 miles, from Exit 6 in Greenwich all the way to Exit 23 in Fairfield.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Traffic was backed up Monday afternoon on Interstate 95 after a multi-vehicle crash in Fairfield, according to state officials.

The collision was reported about 2:30 p.m. on the northbound interstate between Exits 22 and 23, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, which said the right lane was closed.

As of about 3 p.m., the northbound interstate was congested for over 18 miles, from Exit 6 in Greenwich all the way to Exit 23, according to the department, which noted the congestion started about 2 p.m., before the crash was reported.
