Rhythm Kids is a new drumming, music, and movement, program for children. Classes support children's rhythm development and lay the foundation for formal music lessons. The Rhythm Kids Level 1 class is for 3 1/2 - to 5-year-olds, and Level 2 classes are for children in kindergarten through second grade. Children play dynamic musical games, participate in djembe drumming, and experiment with conducting and improvisation using a music repertoire that will engage and inspire school-aged students.
Ms Jacobs explains, "Children will be learning to play real drumming patterns from many places in the world, but simplified and made accessible by first learning them through rhymes with animal themes. It is a very creative program and we are proud to be offering Rhythm Kids classes for our Music Together graduates—and hopefully many new families looking for a nurturing, fun environment where their child can make music and develop new skills.

Parent attendance is welcome for the younger children but not required for this program. Each student receives a Rhythm Kids songbook, CD, and access to interactive online video drumming tutorials, so that the entire family can continue the fun and learning at home, and parents can stay connected to what their child is learning in class.

ABOUT MUSIC TOGETHER: Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program. The Music Together curriculum, coauthored in 1987 by Kenneth K. Guilmartin (Founder/Director) and Rowan University Professor of Music Education Dr. Lili M. Levinowitz (Director of Research), is based on the recognition that all children are musical: all children can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat, and participate with confidence in the music of our culture, provided that their early environment supports such learning. Music Together offers programs for families, schools, at-risk populations, and children with special needs, in over 3000 communities in 41 countries around the world. The company is passionately committed to bringing children and their caregivers closer through shared music-making and helping people discover the joy and educational value of early music experiences.
