National Sports League Experience Comes To Fairfield County

First Presbyterian Church of Fairfield launches Upward Sports' flag football & cheer league this fall.

The following announcement is from First Presbyterian Church of Fairfield:

FAIRFIELD, CT — According to upward.org, there are 500,000 young athletes participating in over 2,800 Upward Sports experiences across the U.S. today. They provide the kind of competitive advantage that can help future-proof & equip kids against challenges later in life.

Upward Sports partners with churches across the U.S. to enrich physical, emotional, social, and spiritual growth for children. Kids deserve more than physical activity, drills, and competition. They need a place to develop humility, integrity, respect, and a chance to explore their faith.

First Presbyterian Church of Fairfield has the only Upward Sports experience in Fairfield County.

Enrollment for this exciting new fall sports program closes on Friday, August 5. Space is limited. Parents are encouraged to register kids early for flag football & cheer league. The season officially kicks off on Wednesday, September 14.

Kids enjoy it because it’s fun! Having a weekly routine can give them a touchstone and something to look forward to, too.

It’s a parent’s dream! Non-competitive means the kids are safe, it’s local, and no one gets benched. Predictable schedules & a single location spell “relief” for busy parents. As a wholesome, short & affordable 7-week experience; it’s a great first step for young kids to try.

What kids & parents across the U.S. are saying:
At halftime they teach you about God,” Natalie says. She learned to think of others before herself. And, makes her a better player at school, too.

“We love the program,” said Lisa Deering, who coaches a team with husband Todd. “We believe in it, and that’s why we’re coaching.”

The faith-based nature of the program doesn’t exclude non-Christians. Chad Joseph, “We’re not
affiliated with any religion.” Chad watched (his son) Jack’s confidence grow, and loves seeing him
laugh & get along with kids he might never have met at school. “It’s a good influence.”
