A New Generation of Leadership - Vote Rob Blanchard for State Senate

I am proud to call Fairfield home. It’s where I was born and raised. It’s where my grandmother, Dorothy Gogol, taught at St. Thomas Aquinas for 40 years. It’s where my grandfather, Peter Norton, owned his own real estate business - Norton Real Estate - on the Post Road for more than 50 years. It’s where my mother worked as a nursery school teacher at Southport Congregational Church for more than 25 years.

My family’s roots run deep in this community, and chances are you, your parents, or your children had my grandmother or mother as a teacher, or my grandfather sold you your first house.

My husband, Rob Blanchard, and I wanted to raise our son, Theo, in Fairfield so we could provide him with the same upbringing my brother and I had – days filled with playing basketball at Wakeman Boys & Girls Club, swimming at Penfield Beach, playing at Sandcastle Playground, sled riding at Sturges Park, and receiving a top education at St. Thomas.

Fairfield is an amazing community, and my husband is running to represent its residents in the State Senate to make it even better. He cares deeply about the future of this community because it’s our family’s future, too.

For years, I have watched Rob put his community first whether it is through serving on local boards and committees, including Fairfield’s Representative Town Meeting, or volunteering for local organizations. No one works harder than he does.

When families were staying safe while at home throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Rob was working in Governor Ned Lamont’s administration, helping small business owners access the resources they needed to keep their operations running and working with municipal leaders to ensure they had the most recent safety guidelines.

Since launching his campaign, Rob has knocked on more than 3,500 doors throughout the 28th State Senate District – which includes Fairfield, Newtown, Easton, and Bethel – asking voters about the type of change they’d like to see at the state level. It’s clear that residents are ready for a change – someone who brings a new voice and a fresh perspective.

Residents want a leader who will work to provide meaningful relief to Connecticut’s families by fighting for tax cuts for seniors and middle class families, and supporting the expansion of programs like the Earned Income tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit.

Residents are eager to elect a leader who will stand up for our values, including a woman’s access to reproductive healthcare and paid family medical leave. Residents want a leader who will strengthen our gun safety laws, fund gun violence prevention programs, and work to attract, train, and retain state and municipal police and firefighters.

For decades, my family has worked to improve the lives of so many through their professions.

It’s time for us to elect a new generation of leadership – someone who will make this community even better for generations to come.
