New Nature Shop Opens In Fairfield

The store is celebrating its grand opening with activities this weekend, including raffles, raptors and more.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Wild Birds Unlimited Nature Shop is officially celebrating the opening of its new Fairfield location this weekend.

The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce has scheduled an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 10 to kick off the grand-opening weekend.

Chris Petherick, owner of the new Wild Birds Unlimited of Fairfield (located at 2246 Black Rock Turnpike), is thrilled to note his new business is definitely for the birds. The nature shop carries fresh, high quality birdseed and other bird food, bird feeders that carry a lifetime warranty and gift and other nature-inspired items.

“There is nothing better than starting the day by watching all the gorgeous birds – big and small – chowing down at your backyard bird feeder. It’s a few moments of zen before life takes over,” Petherick said in a press release. “We know this community is full of nature and bird lovers and we are excited to share with them the hobby of backyard bird feeding. We hope to provide a relaxing shopping experience, with our store offering items and ideas for your birds and your backyard.”

The ribbon-cutting will kick-off the grand opening over the weekend, on March 11 and 12. Raffles, raptors and more make this a celebration suitable for the entire family.

Grand-opening activities include:

  • FREE bird feeder starter kit to all customers, while supplies last
  • RAPTORS! Visit with birds from Horizon Wings Raptors Rehabilitation and Education: Saturday, March 11th from 1:00pm – 2:30pm
  • RAFFLE PRIZES

  • Hummingbird Starter Set
  • Advanced Pole System

First Selectman Mike Tetreau will preside over the ribbon-cutting ceremony which begins at 11 a.m. Everyone is cordially invited to attend the ceremony to help celebrate their official opening.

Wild Birds Unlimited Nature Shop is currently open at 2246 Black Rock Turnpike (in the Trader Joe’s shopping center).
