No School Tuesday In Fairfield Amid Wintry Weather

School was canceled as a wintry mix fell over the town.

FAIRFIELD, CT — All public and parochial schools are closed Tuesday in Fairfield amid wintry weather, according to a Facebook post from Board of Education Secretary Jessica Gerber. The Bigelow Center for Senior Activities is also closed.

The area is under a Hazardous Weather Outlook, as well as a Winter Weather Advisory that lasts until 10 a.m. Tuesday. Up to 1 inch of snow and a light glaze of ice could cause slippery roads and a hazardous morning commute, according to the advisory. A mix of rain and freezing rain is expected to turn completely to rain after 9 a.m., the National Weather Service reported.
