Obituary: Andrew J. Takacs, 80, Of Fairfield

Andrew J. Takacs, age 80, the beloved husband of Anna Venezia Takacs of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Bridgeport, CT, the son of Joseph and Irene Takacs. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Joseph and his wife Susanna Takacs of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Gabriella and her wife Liz Robinson, Jason, Jake and Alexa Takacs. He was predeceased by his daughter, Dawn Takacs and sister Irene Ercolani.

Andy worked at Handy Harman for over forty years. He was an avid fisherman of both salt and fresh water and loved hunting. He loved watching Notre Dame football, UConn men’s and women’s basketball but more than anything, he loved spending time with his family. Andy and Anna spent over 60 years together raising their family, his legacy will live with them all.

Friends are invited to greet his family on Thursday from 4-6 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. followed by entombment in St. Thomas Mausoleum.
