The following obituary of Fairfield resident Anne W. Bonney, 94, is from Spear-Miller Funeral Home:

Anne W. Bonney, age 94, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully Monday, April 24, 2023.

Born in Fairfield, the daughter of the late John H. and Bessie (Curtis) Bonney, she had been a lifelong town resident. Anne successfully managed her family’s properties over multiple decades and also retired as the Assistant to the President at Warner’s Inc., later known as Warnaco.

She loved the beach and being on the water. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and always being surrounded by her cherished dogs.

Predeceased by her four siblings, Elizabeth (Betty) Benedict, John C. Bonney, Doris Moll and Alice Knick, she is survived by three generations of loving nieces and nephews. She gave without expecting and while Anne had no children of her own, she relished her role as the true M.O.M. . . . Matriarch Of Many in an ever expanding family.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on May 6 at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Fairfield. Interment followed in St. Thomas Cemetery.
