Obituary: Anthony (Tony) M. Wellner, 50, of Fairfield

Tony loved his muscle cars, movies, music and was a sports enthusiast. His passion for animals included the many family dogs "children."

Anthony (Tony) M. Wellner, 50, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully in his home on December 4, 2017.

Tony will be dearly missed by his sister, Eileen (Bean) Wellner; his aunt, Janet Bowns; two uncles, Charles Wellner and Paul Wellner; six cousins, Jennifer, Billy, Bobby, Lisa, Michael, and Marianne; many close friends and longtime customers of his family's business, Greenfield Hill Service Station. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Bowns Wellner, and brother, John F. Wellner.

Tony loved his muscle cars, movies, and music. He was a real sports enthusiast, especially when it came to his favorite football team, the Oakland Raiders. Tony also enjoyed collecting coins and unique cars. His passion for animals included the many family dogs "children," Bo & Meghan Head being his favorites. Tony was truly happiest during the time when he was clean & sober. He embraced being part of the recovery community and helping others.

A private memorial service celebrating Tony's life will be announced after the Holidays for family & friends.
