Obituary: Antoinette J. Edwards, 94, of Fairfield

Antoinette J. Edwards, 94, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Dr. Larry E. Edwards, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 22, 2018 with her daughters, Linda and Lisa by her side. She was born March 2, 1924 in Bridgeport to late Matteo and Theresa Norcia.

A graduate of St. Vincent’s College of Nursing, she worked for many years on the Pediatric Ward at St. Vincent’s Hospital. It was there that she met and married her husband, started a family & became a resident of Fairfield for over 50 years. During WWII she was a member of the Cadet Nursing Corps.

Mrs. Edwards was a longtime active parishioner of St. Pius X Church where she always volunteered at the annual church picnic. She is survived by her children, Linda, Lisa, Joan and Larry; a grandson Roy, and her brother Michael. She was predeceased by her son Thomas. A private service will be held.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Teresa Thomas for her friendship and excellent care she provided to their mother for 7.5 years. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
