Obituary: ​Aris A. Mier, 73

Aris A. Mier, 73, the loving and devoted husband of the late Marie Capone Mier, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at his residence. Born in Cuba to the late Raymond and Olga Mier, Aris worked for 40 years at Ross & Roberts, Inc. in Stratford. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose family was most important to him.

He loved spending time with his two grandsons, traveling, watching his New York Yankees, going to the casino, riding his bike, playing pool and spending his time at Seaside Park. He is survived by his devoted son, Aris Mier and his wife, Judith of Bridgeport; his cherished grandchildren, Aris Jr. and his fiancé, Chantel Vasquez and Alex Mier, also of Bridgeport; and, his nephew Edmond Prieto of Miami, FL.

He was predeceased by his sister, Malda Prieto; his nephew, Nicolas Prieto Jr. and his fur-grandchild Meaty.Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield Center. A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with entombment to follow in Mt. Grove Pilgrimage Mausoleum.
