Carol Marie (Hajas) Jacobson, 86, of Fairfield, the beloved wife of the late Richard Jacobson, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2023. In her earlier years, Carol worked as a legal secretary at a local law firm which is where she met Richard. She was an extremely gifted artist who worked with many different mediums. However, she had an affinity for painting portraits. She was also a gourmet cook.

Carol is survived by her brother, Bob Hajas (Barbara); daughter, Donna Reitz (Paul); and daughter-in-law, Patricia Felner-Bragano (Nick). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Aaron Reitz (Meredith), Lee Reitz, Margo Reitz, Matthew Felner (Erin), Jayme Sekel (John), Christian Felner, Nicholas Bragano (Becca), and Matt Bragano; as well as nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her beloved dog, Quinn.

In addition to her husband, Carol was predeceased by her son, David Felner; and sister, Donna Cornwall.

Her family would like to thank her dedicated and loving caregiver, Ayana Smith. Carol will always be remembered for her warmth, sense of humor, and love of family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
