Obituary: Daniel Patrick McCoy, 35

Danny, who worked for the Fairfield Public Works Department, was the first in his family born in America and was proud of his Irish heritage

Daniel Patrick McCoy, 35, of Stratford, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of Lynore Collazo McCoy and devoted father to Logan Ray McCoy. Born in Bridgeport on January 22, 1982 he was the son of Bernard and Eileen O'Hale McCoy of Stratford.

Danny worked for the Town of Fairfield in the Public Works Department and although Danny was the first in his family born in America he was extremely proud of his Irish heritage. He was a longtime member of the Gaelic American Club and never missed an opportunity to remind others of his background.

On Sunday afternoons you could always find Danny enjoying a few rounds of golf at the beach, throwing rocks into the water with his son, or playing a game of trivia with his wife. In addition to his parents and loving wife and son, Danny is survived by his brother, Bernard McCoy and his wife Kerry and son Pearse of Long Island; his sister in-law Maris Huffman and her husband Chris and daughter Pennie of Wethersfield; and his brother in-law; Kyle Collazo of Derby. He is also survived by his uncle Neal O'Hale of Ireland, aunts Mary Rock, Pauline Rylands, and Francis Beaton of Ireland, Philomena Burns of England and Margaret O’Neill of South Carolina as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and his many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Aug. 25. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the family for the future education of his son Logan.
