Obituary: David B. McDonald, 76, of Fairfield

David B. McDonald, 76, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully Sunday May 27, 2018. Born in Middletown, the son of the late Arthur and Meryl McDonald, he was raised in Fairfield and was a graduate of Andrew Warde High School.

Following graduation he began a 22-year career in the United States Air Force retiring as Security Police Technical Sergeant. David worked as a corrections officer in California and for the Salvation Army. He returned to Fairfield six years ago.

Survivors include his beloved sister, Meryl (Markie) Nelson and her husband David of Fairfield; three children, Jason McDonald and Wendy Joy of California and Ann Bouzeghoub of England; four grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Arthur McDonald and a sister, Carolyn Steiner.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Gathering Room at Black Rock Church, 3685 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield with the Rev. James Marshall officiating. Military honors will conclude the service. A burial will be held in Lawncroft Cemetery prior to the service.
