Obituary: David J. Goldsmith, 80, of Fairfield

David J. Goldsmith, 80, of Fairfield, beloved husband of nearly 60 years of Alice E. Goldsmith, passed away peacefully in his home Saturday, November 10, 2018. Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Earle and Jennie Goldsmith, he had been a Fairfield resident for most of his life.

A Graduate of Warren Harding High School, David began his career at Hoffmann Fuel at the age of 16 retiring at the age of 62 in the Accounting Department. He was an active 45 year member and Elder at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Fairfield. Survivors in addition to his loving wife Alice include his son, Mark S. Goldsmith of Terryville; two nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by a brother, George Ries and a sister, Dorothy Nast.

A funeral talk will be given Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers friends are asked to consider a contribution in David’s memory to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 40 Hillside Road, Fairfield, CT 06824.
