Obituary: Dean J. Robertson, 50; Fairfield Native

Dean John Robertson, 50, of Milford, beloved husband to Donna Moravek, passed away peacefully at his family home in Fairfield, on April 1, 2017 with family by his side, after fighting a brave and courageous battle with cancer.

Dean was a devoted husband, loving son and brother, loyal friend to all, and will be remembered by his wife Donna who was his childhood sweetheart and wife of 12 years; his beloved parents, John and Georgette Robertson of Fairfield; his brother, Mark Robertson, of Stratford and several aunts, uncles, and cousins in Scotland and the U.S.

Dean was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and moved to Fairfield at the age of 7. Raised in Fairfield, Dean graduated from Rodger Ludlowe High School. He graduated from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield before receiving his BS degree from Quinnipiac University.

He started out his career as a respiratory therapist at Yale New Haven Hospital prior to working in the pharmaceutical industry for 15 years and was currently employed as a Medical Representative for Exact Sciences in Queens, NY.

Dean was known to be a very caring individual with an outgoing personality that encompassed everyone. Along with a great sense of humor he also had a great taste for adventure. Dean took pleasure in traveling and his best loved place was New York City, where he and Donna spent much of their time and considered it their second home. Dean was a music enthusiast, an avid musician where his love for guitar led him to be invited to play professionally.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 3-7 PM at the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Dean's family would like to thank Medical Specialists of Fairfield, Swim Across The Sound and 9 South at St. Vincent's Medical Center for all of their help and support.
