Georgina F. Minardi, age 86, of Fairfield, entered into rest on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Bridgeport Hospital. She is the devoted wife of 61 years of Angelo Minardi. Georgina was born in Dumbarton, Scotland on August 31, 1933, daughter of the late John and Georgina (Fulton) Fleming, and lived in Fairfield for over forty years, coming from Bridgeport.
She worked in the lunch room at Holland Hill School in Fairfield. Georgina enjoyed gardening and watching birds, and was a wonderful cook. Most of all she was devoted to her family, which was always her focal point.
She is the beloved mother of Karen Bertanza and her husband Mark, Theresa Thompson, Derek Minardi, Mary Soracco and her husband Andy, and Angelo Minari Jr and his wife Betty Jo. She also leaves a brother, Jack Fleming, a sister, Jean Cidorwich, seventeen cherished grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Hugh Fleming, two sisters, Mary Scott and Margaret Donnachie, her son-in-law Robert Thompson, and three grandsons.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton on Friday from 4 to 7 PM. Her funeral service will begin in the funeral home on Friday at 6:45 PM.
