Obituary: Gloria L. Lutinski, 99, Of Fairfield

The following obituary is from Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home:

Gloria L. Lutinski, 99 (just shy of her “100th” birthday, 4/2/24), of Fairfield, beloved wife to the late Edward P. Lutinski, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on March 20, 2024.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, Gloria will forever be cherished by her daughters Tammy Zadravecz of Fairfield & Linda Kardamis and her husband Paul of Fairfield and, her son Gerald Lutinski and his late wife Elaine of St. Augustine, FL. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Taylor Zadravecz of South Hadley, MA, Alyssa Zadravecz Gamby and her husband JR., Christy Sandy and her husband Chris of FL, Leah Pomianowski and her late husband John of Trumbull, Dean Kardamis of Fairfield, her great grandson Jeffrey Lutinski and his family of FL, Hailey and Sage Pomianowski of Trumbull, Maximus and Sianna of Black Rock; several nieces and nephews and former granddaughter-in-law Diana Kardamis of Black Rock.

In addition to her husband Edward, Gloria was predeceased by her grandsons Edward and Wayne Lutinski, both of Florida; and, her sister Joyce Kane of Fairfield.

Gloria was born in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late Julius and Julia Csapo Farkas. Gloria grew up in the city’s West End and was proud of her Hungarian heritage. She graduated from Bassick High School and went on to work in several manufacturing companies.

Gloria always enjoyed days at the beach with her friends and their families. Gloria’s other passions included playing cards including Pokino, bowling on a woman’s league with her neighborhood friends and making her famous Hungarian stuffed cabbage, stuffed peppers and of course, goulash. She also was an avid baker making cakes, Hungarian cookies and even Greek cookies, which were all delicious to say the least.

I think Gloria was the biggest fan of Elvis Presley. She had many of his albums and an 8 track tape she used to love listening to plus other memorabilia.

Dove chocolates were her “go to”.

Gloria will be sadly missed by many!! She had a heart of gold and was there through thick and thin. The Lutinski Family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff and especially the caregivers at Constellation Hospice Care, Shamrock Homecare and Homecare Pro for taking such great care of Gloria.

There will be no services but a Celebration of her Life will take place at a later date.
