Obituary: Harry Seglin, 92, of Fairfield

Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served honorably in World War II. He retired from Norwalk Powder Metal after 32 years of employment

Harry Seglin, 92, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully in Paragould, Arkansas with his family by his side. He was born in Brooklyn to the late Jack and Elizabeth (Cooper) Seglin and was a longtime area resident.

Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served honorably in World War II. He received several decorations, including the Philippine Liberation Medal. After the service, Harry went to work in the powder metal industry and retired from Norwalk Powder Metal after 32 years of employment. In his downtime, he enjoyed working in his yard, woodworking and going to the gun club.

Harry is survived by his sister, Virginia Wheaton and brother, Lester Seglin. He will also be missed by his nieces, Lois Wheaton, Carol Ludovice, Corinne (Frank) Griswold and Patti (Howey) Palay; nephews, Dean (Sheryl) Wheaton, Leslie (Judy) Wheaton and Jeffrey (Nancy) Seglin; and many grandnieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Terry Elias and grandniece, Marissa Wheaton.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd. in Fairfield Center. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
