Obituary: Isabel (Isa) Medvegy, 76, of Fairfield

Isabel (Isa) Medvegy, 76, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully, Monday, October 30, 2017. Born the daughter of John and Mary Murphy in 1941 in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to the United States of America in 1959.

She is survived by her husband, Andrew (Richard) Medvegy of 27 Years, seven sons, a daughter, 13 grandchildren, a brother Alaxander of Scotland, a sister Dorothy of England and several nieces and nephews. Isa is predeceased by her son, brother John of Scotland, brother Thomas of Canada and a sister Emily of Scotland. She was a former employee of New York Telephone.

Isa also worked in real estate and later started her own small business, “Nails by Isa.” She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family as well as cooking for the Homeless. She spent her time knitting, sewing, crafts and her annual trips to Cape Cod with her husband. Isa also enjoyed watching her grandchildren sports activities on the weekends.

The family would like to thank the staff from the Ludlow Rehabilitation Center, Cambridge Manner, St. Vincent’s Medical Center, and Connecticut Hospice for their support and prayers. Friends may greet the family Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S. Benson Rd., Fairfield.
