Obituary: Janet Gauthier Skultety, 67, of Fairfield

Janet Gauthier Skultety, 67, of Fairfield, beloved wife of Thomas Skultety, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Bridgeport on October 5, 1950, daughter of the late Joseph and Eunice Gauthier, Janet had been a Fairfield Town resident for 20 years. She had worked as a secretary for McClinch Crane where she met Tom. Later she was a teacher’s aide for St. Andrews School and the Town of Westport. Janet was an avid reader and enjoyed walking.

In addition to her husband Tom, Janet leaves her son, Brian Skultety of Fairfield, her daughter Karen Podpolucha, and her husband Frank Jr. of Fairfield, granddaughters Brynn, Harper and Mia Podpolucha, a sister Leona Anderson of Bridgeport, sister-in laws Nancy Skultety, Kathy (Chris) Lyddy & Jackie Skultety, brother in law Jim Skultety along with nieces Sara, Caithlin, Emma and Allison. She was predeceased by her brother in law Alexander Skultety. The family would also like to thank Sarah from Masonicare Hospice for her nursing care.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center and at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church 700 Old Stratfield Rd., Fairfield with burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
