Obituary: Karen B. Sullivan, 69, of Fairfield

Karen, who enjoyed volunteering for the Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival, was an active member of the Patterson Club for over 20 years.

Karen B. Sullivan, 69, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully Monday, November 27, 2017. Born in Binghamton, N.Y. the daughter of the late Robert and Betty Ondrusek, she had been a Fairfield resident since 1982.

Karen received her Associates Degree from Averett College in Danville, VA and spent 10 years developing business as Marketing Director for Show Homes of Westport. She was an active member of the Patterson Club for over 20 years where she served as Social Chair on the Board of Directors and on the Women’s Golf League. Karen enjoyed volunteering for the Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival.

Survivors include two beloved children, Sean T. Sullivan of Fairfield and Kerry A. Gueterman and her husband Joe of Southport; five cherished grandchildren, Kara and Rylee Sullivan and Caroline, Jack and Grace Gueterman; a sister, Darla Babiel and her husband John of Cary, NC; her former husband and friend, Thomas J. Sullivan of Fairfield; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 1, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Interment will be private.

Family and friends may call Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. The family wishes to thank the staff at Lord Chamberlain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate and loving care provided to Karen and her family throughout her stay there. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cadasil Foundation of America, 3605 Monument Drive, Round Rock, TX 78681 (www.cadasilfoundation.org).
