The following obituary of Fairfield resident Kevin McKee Fitzpatrick, 34, is from Spear Miller Funeral Home:

Kevin McKee Fitzpatrick, age 34, of Fairfield, beloved son of William J. Fitzpatrick, III and Miriam McKee Fitzpatrick, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. He is survived by his heartbroken parents, his brother, Will and his sister-in-law, Malu, and their children, Chloe, William and Hollie.

Kevin was born on April 13, 1988 and was a bouncing baby boy who never stopped smiling. He graduated from Fairfield Prep in 2006 and Gettysburg College in 2010 with a degree in creative writing. His last several years were plagued by chronic migraines. Despite the constant debilitating pain, Kevin graduated from Quinnipiac Law School and passed the Connecticut Bar Examination. He practiced law with his proud father in Fairfield, and later moved into the internet marketing field and on-line blog writing.

Kevin was an excellent athlete who played tennis and especially loved skiing and mountain biking with his brother Will. He was a voracious reader with a keen intellect who could converse on any subject from anime to Virgil Abloh. He had a wide range of interests including Formula 1 racing, computers, art, vintage and luxury automobiles, clothing and sneakers. Kevin had a wide ranging love of music, enjoying artists from Nile Rodgers to Twiddle.

Kevin loved his family deeply, including his many aunts and uncles, and particularly his cousins. But the ones who could always make his face light up were his niece, Chloe, and her twin siblings, William and Hollie. He was never happier than when he was a kid again playing on the floor with them. Kevin treasured his life long friendship with Kyle Travis and the entire Travis family.

To know Kevin was to love him. There wasn’t a mean bone in his body. Pets recognized this. He was the family’s pet sitter of choice. Kevin deserved a better life than one with years of pain to endure. His love, friendship and his smile will never be forgotten.

Calling hours were held on December 13, and a funeral service for Kevin was held on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Our Lady of the Mississippi Abbey, Dubuque, Iowa.
