Obituary: Leo Meindl, 96, of Fairfield
Leo was a World War II veteran and a journalist for the Long Island Press for more than 30 years.

Leo Meindl, 96, passed away on January 26th, 2017 in Fairfield, CT. He was born on January 28th, 1920 in Vienna, Austria the only child to Louis and Katharina Meindl.
Leo was a World War II veteran and a Journalist for the Long Island Press for over 30 years. Leo and his wife Berthe Meindl were happily married for 68 years prior to her death in 2014.

Leo also worked as a fundraiser for the Kainer Kids in Long Island a long time active member of the Silurians Society of New York. His life will be cherished by the ones he leaves behind: his son, Albert, daughter in law, Denise, and three grandchildren, Eric, Brittany, and Brian Meindl.
A funeral service will be held at Black Rock Church, 3685 Black Rock Turnpike, in Fairfield, CT at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7th.
