Obituary: Linda M. Meeker, 61; Fairfield Native

Linda was a gifted & talented crafter. She loved to crochet & knit, but above all else, excelled in Wheat Weaving which was her true passion

Linda M. Meeker, 61, of Stratford, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Westchester Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport, Linda was raised in Fairfield and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of St. Thomas Grammar School, Roger Ludlowe High School and Fairfield University. She worked for many years as a cost accountant for many companies including Rolock and Warnaco.

Linda was a gifted and talented crafter. She loved to crochet and knit, but above all else, excelled in Wheat Weaving which was Linda’s true passion. She sold her creations at numerous craft fairs and shops for many years and always looked forward to attending the Wheat Weaving conventions every year. She was a member of the National Association of Wheat Weavers (NAWW) and the Straw Guild of Craftsman.

Survivors include her husband, Luciano (Louie) Arroyo of Stratford; her beloved parents, Bruce and Nancy (Ostrosky) Meeker of Fairfield; a niece and a nephew, Ashley and Joseph Meeker, Jr., and numerous friends and fellow crafters. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Meeker.
