Lois Adolphson Gerety, born November 22, 1947, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Hackensack University Medical Center at the age of 66 after a seven year battle with cancer. She is survived by her mother, Marian Clark Adolphson, of Bridgeport, her daughters Meghan Gerety and her son Briar Phelan, of Easton, Bridget Gerety Small and her husband Sean and their children Leo and Stori, of New York City, Keelin Gerety Murphy and her husband Ryan, and their children Charlotte and Lochlan, of Easton; her two brothers, Brad Adolphson, of Market Deeping, UK and Roy Adolphson, of Springfield, VT, a sister Lyn Bradford of Los Angeles, CA, her former husband of many years, Peter Gerety, and her companion of seventeen years, Seth Lukash, of Westport, CT.

She was an art therapist at the Kennedy Center in Trumbull where she spent twenty-seven years working with adults with intellectual disabilities. She was an inspiration, and loved and admired by all those she shared her artistry with for so many years. Many are familiar with the yearly A Unique Perspective calendars made from her students’ paintings.
Lois’ deep love for her family, her friends, cooking, golf and forever making others laugh and enjoy her radiant personality will be missed.
