Obituary: Loretta Kolvig, 74, Of Fairfield

The following obituary of Fairfield resident Loretta Kolvig, 74, is from Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home:

Loretta Kolvig, 74 of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023 surrounded by her loving children. She fought a long journey to stay strong, but ultimately God took her into his arms, removing all her pain.

Loretta was the daughter of the late John & Loretta Duffy. She is survived by her sisters, Anne M. Giroux and her husband Albert, and Mary Ellen Cappozziello. She will be tremendously missed by her loving partner, Al Ferris, who adored her to the very end. Loretta leaves behind her four children, Richard Duffy and his wife Michelle, Jennifer Grosberg and her partner Michael Saffiotti, Todd Grosberg and his wife Emily, and Julie Zuleta and her husband Brian; and grandchildren, Joshua, Giana, Benicio and Cristiano. Loretta's children and loved ones will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

She lived a good life full of laughter & love. Her magnetic smile was contagious and brought joy wherever she went. Loretta cared deeply for all, but always put her family first. It gave her great pleasure to watch her grandchildren grow, imagining all the possibles yet ahead.

Loretta will be greatly missed.

Friends may greet her family on Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd. in Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends and family will continue to celebrate Loretta’s life immediately following the burial at Vazzy’s, 513 Broadbridge Rd. in Bridgeport.
